2027: Engr Dada unveils water, roads, healthcare as priorities for Bosso-Paikoro constituency

The All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for Bosso-Paikoro Federal Constituency in Niger State, Engr. Ibrahim Dada, has identified potable water, rural roads, education and healthcare as major priorities if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.

Engr. Dada, a technocrat with experience in grassroots development, said his aspiration was driven by his understanding of the challenges confronting residents, particularly those in rural communities.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in his family residence at Maikunkele community of Bosso local government, he said lack of access to potable water was one of the most common complaints he encountered during his consultations across the constituency.

“Most of the local people, if you go to any village, they will tell you they don’t have water. There is no village that I have visited where the women have not complained about water,” he said.

Engr. Dada, a structural engineer who previously served as a state project coordinator under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), said the experience exposed him to the challenges facing rural communities.

He explained that good roads were essential to the economic wellbeing of rural dwellers, particularly farmers who need access to markets to sell their produce.

“Give a villager a good road and he will have access to bring out his farm produce to the nearest market. Give him water and he will have good drinking water,” he said.

The APC candidate also pledged to support improvements in schools and healthcare facilities, saying although a legislator could not solve every problem, meaningful interventions could improve the living conditions of constituents.

On youth and women empowerment, Engr. Dada promised to build on his previous interventions, stressing that his entry into politics would not make him abandon initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.

He said even modest financial support could strengthen the small businesses of rural women and help improve their economic independence.

The APC plagbearer disclosed that he had commissioned a consultant and a team to conduct a needs assessment across the 21 wards of the constituency before embarking on his political campaign.

According to him, the exercise produced a blueprint of the people’s needs, which would guide his interventions if given the mandate.

On sports development, Engr. Dada welcomed the state government’s award of the contract for the proposed 25,000-capacity stadium within the constituency, expressing optimism that contractors would soon mobilise to site.

He said his aspiration was not merely to occupy a legislative position but to use the opportunity to deliver meaningful development and ensure that the people of Bosso-Paikoro could feel the impact of their representation.

He also appreciated the Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago for his developmental stride, the APC leadership and other critical stakeholders of the party, especially within the constituency for finding him worthy to be the flagbearer of the party, promising not to fail them.
